KidCon

Returning to VCON again this year is the infamous KidCon! It's the con inside VCON that's all for the kids featuring toys, games, movies, and adult supervision. It's perfect for those times when you want to experience a panel discussion, tour the art show, or dive into everything else the con has, all without your youngest in tow.

Last year's KidCon featured the LEGO adventure game BrickQuest, courtesy of the Vancouver LEGO Club, kid-friendly board games from the Vancouver Gaming Guild, toys from plush to digital collected by VCON over the years, books from fantastic to comic and even RPG, colouring books and art supplies, plus a select batch of TV & movies as provided by the venue.

Finally, the KidCon adult crew have years of experience with kids - from parenting their own to working in kid-centric media and games.

If you have any questions or concerns about KidCon please don't hesitate to get in touch with the VCON KidCon Coordinator through our Contact Form

Helping Out KidCon

As with all aspects of VCON, KidCon is run by volunteers, and the more help there is the easier it is all around. If you're good with kids and would like to help shape some of the earliest fan-convention memories of our proto-geeks, please let the VCON Volunteer Coordinator know using the VCON Volunteer Oportunities option on our Contact Form.

We will also gladly accept donations of DVDs, toys or books to the KidCon "toy box". Ideally they should be in reasonable shape (banged-up is okay; broken is just sad and depressing). You can also loan us stuff, but we cannot promise that it will get back to you in the condition in which it was when you loaned it to us (most likely it will — the kids aren't barbarians — but once in a while, as you know, kids do get out of hand). In either case, all you need to do is come by the KidCon suite and drop off whatever you'd like to donate to whichever adult is in charge at the time.
